GETTING TO KNOW US
Bridgeview Community Church is a group of people living in the Illinois Valley located in the beautiful Southern Oregon. We are a big part of the great and mighty work God is doing in our community and throughout the world. We desire to live out a vibrant relationship with God our Father, through what Christ has purchased for us, by the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe God will do the rest as we follow Him!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that through the sin of our first parents Adam and Eve, all have become sinners by nature and have been separated from the God who loves and created us. (Romans 3:23, 5:12)
We believe that God’s love drove Him to reconcile the world to Himself through the substitutionary death on a cross of His own Son on our behalf.(Romans 5:1)
We believe that all those who will receive this free gift (the cancellation of our sin through Jesus) will be instantly reconciled to God the Father on the basis of their belief and trust (or: Faith) alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:1)
We believe that there is no other way to meet God’s favor, love, or blessing except through allowing Christ to pay our debt. (John 10:1-11, John 14:8)
We believe that the proof that we have received God’s gift, is that we will know that we are God’s children by the Holy Spirit living in us and instinctively love as God loves. (Romans 8:16, Gal. 1:22-24, I John 4:20)
We believe that we are called to be missionaries to our own culture and the world around us. In obedience to the “Great Commission” we place an emphasis on reaching those that are not saved with the good news of what Jesus has done. (Mark 16:15, IICor. 5:19-20)
We believe the bible is God’s written word and has been preserved by God for mankind to know who He is. We place a great emphasis on teaching, reading, and hearing God’s word so that our faith might grow. (II Tim 3:16, Romans 10:17)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is still active in the present day and age. Therefore the gift that He gives are available for the church today. (John 14:16-17, 26 and Acts 2:38-39)
Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, it is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Bridgeview Community Church’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Elders are Bridgeview Community Church’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
